Week 109 : Annual Scholarship Program

Date : 27 Sept. 2025

Theme / Text : LOVE - 1 Corinthians 13:1-13

“If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.” vs13

Love is the most important thing. If we don't have love, then the truth has never been believed. We are false, and we bear bad fruit, even if we preach, and give our bodies to be burned. 1 Corinthians 13:1-2 - "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing."

Recently, the necessity of love came front and center to me. It's not about bashing, offending, and disrespecting people, because you think you are right. It's about speaking the truth in love, and loving those who are wrong. It's not about laughing. Can you picture the Lord Jesus or Paul laughing at sinners, who are on their way to destruction? I cannot.

Love doesn't say, “I'm proud. I'm more knowledgeable than you.” 1 Corinthians 13:4 - "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant" It doesn't say, “I believe God, but I don't care about people.” It doesn't seek to offend, and wound needlessly. It wants the best for others, like a skilled physician.” Evang. Heshimu

What a blessing it was to receive God’s admonition on love from 1 Corinthians 13—revealing how love is meant to act, how it must not act, and giving us a beautiful pattern of the true nature of biblical love.”
